Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and egg until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the cream of tartar to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture in three additions, alternating with the milk.
  6. Fold in the chopped fresh flowers.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among 8 baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

  • For a richer cake, add 1/2 cup (1 stick) of chocolate chips to the batter.
  • You can also add other decorations, such as sprinkles, nuts, or dried fruit.
  • Serve fresh with a cup of coffee or tea.
